Receptions should start in an elegant, tasteful and professional
format and evolve into a fun, upbeat celebration.
Most brides & grooms like a lot of the same style: Cocktail and/or
dinner music consisting of Ella, Etta, Sarah, Oscar, Dinah, Frank,
Dean, Louis, Earl etc. then during dance time the music evolves from
some swing (Tommy, Glenn, and Count) into say Motown (Supremes, Temptations,
and Aretha) into 60's rock (Beatles, Roy, and Chubby) into some 70's
(Four Seasons, Barry, Bee Gees, KC Jackson 5) and maybe even some
80's (Dexy's, Madonna, Michael, Wham) into some 90's and current
depending on the age range of the guests.. This way there is a little
of something for everyone.
Granted, not every event follows this format, but this is just an
example of the “general flow” reception. At some Weddings
there may be a higher or lower median age and in such cases of course
the music is adjusted. Most Weddings fall right in between. We can
perform up and down the whole spectrum, no matter what your tastes.
No two receptions are ever exactly a like! The music must be tailored
along with appropriate programming for your event.
All the elements of your wedding should flow together seamlessly.
Starting with your minister, site location, caterer, ceremony and
/ or reception music, photographer, flowers, and so on. Together
they create "your" wedding day. This is a special time
in your life, and I will help make it as stress free as possible.
The keys to having a stress-free and fun wedding reception are pretty
simple, careful planning, a good attitude, and the right wedding
professionals. You should not try to micro manage every detail yourself,
(but always you have the last word!) Instead, you may want to listen
to suggestions from your wedding reception professionals, these experts
can offer excellent advice based on many years of experience.
So relax, have a great time, and let us take care of the details!!! Once your big day arrives, we will be working directly with the
coordinator and/or caterer to make sure you and your guests are
ready as each event draws near (cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc).
Your guests don't come to your reception to see us. We are there
to play music, represent you and your family(s), present the announcements
and keep the time flow on track thru out your entire day or evening.
Whether you like it or not, you guys are the show. Your guests
have come to see you and your families, and celebrate your wedding
day.
We work with you to keep you comfortable in the spotlight, or just
off to the side of it.
